Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has come under heavy criticism from Nigerians after he discovered a camera at the at the scene of last Tuesday’s shooting in the Lekki area of Lagos state.
Taking to Twitter in the early hours of Monday, Nigerians criticised the former Lagos governor for abandoning his duty and performing forensic functions days after the ill-fated shooting and killing of peaceful #EndSARS protesters.
Fashola alongside ministers and governors from the south-west, had, on Sunday, made an on-the-spot assessment of some of the places vandalised during the violence that trailed the #EndSARS protest and found the device.
Speaking during the discovery of the camera, Fashola said that the device must have been planted by “some subversive elements.”
The minister reportedly picked up the device with a handkerchief and handed it over to the Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The former Lagos governor was quoted to have said:
I think this will help with the ongoing investigations into the shootings at the Lekki Toll Gate. It requires forensic analysis and could be used in the investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding the shootings at the Toll Gate, I believe.
Meanwhile, some Nigerians who made comic and sarcastic comment on Fashola’s discovery, advised Fashola to quit his role in Buhari’s cabinet and take up a movie role, as he has not been able to tackle Nigeria’s power issues after four years as a Minister.
I wonder when Fashola became a Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) from lawyer.
In their myopic and abacus mind, they assumed Fashola's old glory could earn him trust and make him the perfect specimen for their experimentation.

Nigerians further rubbished the discovery by Fashola and his ‘goons’ as they claimed that the government is playing on the intelligence of Nigerians and trying hard to coverup the Lekki Massacre.
Men of the Nigerian Army had, on Tuesday, October 20, invaded and opened fire on unarmed protesters at the Lekki tollgate, sparking outrage worldwide and controversy over the number of those killed and the number of persons that sustained injuries.
Recall that Sanwo-Olu, in the wake of the incident, debunked media report that lives were lost despite video and pictorial evidences which were made available.
